MAZI ANYOGU ELEKWACHI UKONU
I chief Mazi Anyaogu Elekwachi Ukonu was born on March 5th 1930 at Amangwu Eluohafia Ibinaukwu Igbere in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

My father Chief Elekwachi Ukonu was polygamist and he married three wives and my mother Mrs. Erinma Elekwachi Ukonu was one of them.  He was a renowned farmer and his title was “Omendi” (yam producer).When I was a kid I was very pugnacious.  My first name “Anyaogu” means somebody who is always looking for a fight.  My second name “Elekwachi” means “No Procrastination” and my last name “Ukonu” means somebody who is fond of talking.”  So my first name is typical of my life style when I was young, i.e. fighting most of the time.  All the chaps who came across me were thoroughly beaten by me.  I was really a bully.  One fateful day I encountered a chap whose name was Udeogu (meaning Famous Fighter)...”
